One of my bucket list goals was to travel to the Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival in the spring. Since I wasn’t able to make it last year as I was in Japan to see the blossoms, I wanted to be sure I could see them more in Korea this year. Due to the fact it’s an extremely popular event, there was a ton of congestion on the highway en route to the festival. Although it rained a lot of the time seeing as it was springtime in Seoul, it was really beautiful and I’m happy I got to see it!
Following the festival, we boarded a bus to take us to Busan. The only time I’d been to Busan was in December 2013, weeks after I’d just arrived in Korea. I was really excited to explore more of the city as last time I wasn’t very prepared. We visited Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, another site on my “Korea bucket list” and walked along a lovely path that bordered the sea.
The following weekend, one of my favorite human beings in the entire world returned, and another amazing person left. Alexis worked at LCI Kids Club in Suji for a mere 3 months before she decided to head back to America. She is a lovely, intelligent and witty woman, and it’s a shame the workplace caused her such discomfort.
Sydney, my OG bestie in Korea, decided to come visit Seoul for a mere 5 days, but it was a great time. It was so nice to be able to see her face in person and laugh endlessly. James referred to himself as “Sydney #2” when they met and I’m still laughing about it.
She had the opportunity to meet some of my little ones and they were extremely excited about it. I miss her loads and can’t wait until our paths cross again.
