Wise words

I went shopping for some items with my mom today and we are going to start packing up my house tomorrow. I’m thankful that one of her good friends was kind enough to drive out from Ohio to help me get organized before the big move. We’ve gotten a lot accomplished in the past 24 hours, and I guess that’s what moms are for. Each day it’s starting to feel real – that I’m actually about to pick up my life and move to KOREA! I’d like to share some quotes I’ve stumbled upon over the course of the past few months which have helped pump me up and prioritize.

“You are still young and free. Do yourself a favor. Before it’s too late, without thinking too much about it first, pack a pillow and a blanket and see as much of the world as you can. You will not regret it. One day it will be too late.”

― Jhumpa Lahiri

“Don’t get stuck. Move, travel, take a class, take a risk. There is a season for wildness and a season for settledness, and this is neither. This season is about becoming. Don’t lose yourself at happy hour, but don’t lose yourself on the corporate ladder either. Stop every once in a while and go out to coffee or climb in bed with your journal.”

― Shauna Niequist, 11 Proven Ways to Avoid a Quarter-life Crisis

“I have wandered all my life, and I have also traveled; the difference between the two being this, that we wander for distraction, but we travel for fulfillment.”

― Hilaire Belloc

“The person attempting to travel two roads at once will get nowhere.”

― Xun Zi
