Photo Essay: A Day in Osaka, Japan

Photo Essay: A Day in Osaka, Japan

In the spring of 2014 I booked a last minute weekend trip to Osaka to see the cherry blossoms. Upon my arrival, I was immediately drawn to Osaka. I’m not sure if it was the buzzing energy of the locals or the fact that almost all of its streets are drenched in neon signage, but Osaka thrilled me.

This weekend brings back such happy memories. Dotonbori. Endless laughter. Delicious food. Too much saki. Meeting amazing people. The busy energy and confusion seemed to just make sense and I’ve since not experienced anything like it.

I hope to return to Osaka someday, but until I do, these awesome memories will suffice.

What a beautiful collection of photographs! I’ve been to DC to see the cherry blossoms & it would be a dream to see them in Japan. I love those street scenes. So much to see!

I host a Photo Friday link-up each week – for blogger photographers who have had a photo post during that week. This would be a perfect post for it! I’d love it if you considered joining us this week; the post goes live Thursday nights around 10 pm CST.

I do hope to go back to Osaka and spend more time there. I only got 2 days there and there was a horrible typhoon at the time so we didn’t get to check out much. Here’s to one day doing more exploring. 🙂

I love Osaka. It was my favorite place in Japan and the sister city of where I’m originally from–Chicago. The food is the best! Make sure you try kushikatsu the next time you’re there!
