One of the cooler bits about my stay at The Yellow Rome was having access to The Yellow Bar. While I didn’t hang out downstairs as it had a bit too much of a “club” atmosphere for me, I thoroughly enjoyed the upstairs section. Here are a few reasons why I loved The Yellow Bar and why I think it’s worth a visit!
1. The Yellow Bar is a perfect meeting spot
Not only is The Yellow Bar located down the road from Rome’s Termini, it’s a super chill place to have a few beers with friends. I found out a few days before arriving in Rome that my friend Jay had recently relocated there to work as a tour guide for Korean tourists. We decided to meet up one evening after a day of exploring the city and grabbed dinner down the road after a pitcher of beer. I’m pretty sure Jay now frequents The Yellow Bar on a weekly basis as he’s met so many cool people there!
I also met fellow travel blogger Nicole of Wee Gypsy Girl at The Yellow Bar. We both started our blogs while living in Korea, and it was so fun to meet her and share our Asia and travel musings over some drinks. We took our photos at the tail-end of the night, so as you can imagine they’re not the most flattering of images. Until next time!
2. The event calendar is stacked
Not only is The Yellow Bar an awesome place to meet people, it’s perfect for solo and group travelers alike. This place has events happening on a nightly basis; some more intense than others.
If you’re curious to have a look at some of the events, feel free to check out the website.
3. The Yellow Bar made the world feel a bit smaller
Have you ever wondered just how connected we are as humans? I had an “ah-ha” moment one night as I got to talking to a fellow American at The Yellow Bar. I wrote about our interaction on my review of The Yellow Hostel.
Long story short, I corroborated the story the following day with my friend, and as it turns out she was telling the truth! What are the chances? It’s a small world, after all!
4. The drink prices are budget-friendly
One of the cool features of The Yellow Hostel Bar is the fact that guests have the option of purchasing two different wristbands when booking a room at The Yellow Hostel. The bands enable guests to purchase drinks at reduced prices, which is worth the extra cost. I would have certainly purchased it had The Yellow not distributed the bands gratis for James and me.
5. The Yellow Bar is owned by The Yellow Hostel
If you’ve been following my travels, you’ll know that I loved the five days I spent at The Yellow Hostel in Rome. It is, hands down, one of the coolest hostels I’ve visited and can’t recommend it enough for those stopping through The Eternal City. The Yellow Bar is conveniently located just across the street from the hostel, and near to some excellent restaurants to fill you up pre- or post-drinks.
